Chester is doing great. He now weighs 3 pounds 9 ounces. He now takes all of his food by bottle and has his feeding tube removed. He also moved to low flow oxygen. This is the type of oxygen he canngo home on and wean off of as he gets older (Colorado air is tough with the elevation). We are in the final stages of getting ready for Chester to come home. Right now, he is having “events” where he pauses his breathing for too long. When this happens, we sit him up and rub his back to remind him to breathe. When he is under 24hr nurse supervision on a monitor, this is ok but we dont want him to do this outside the hospital. Once Chester proves he can remember to breathe for a consistent period if time he will get to come home. Mom and Dad are so excited to be in the home stretch of NICU journey.
