Chester made great progress this week. He weighs 1810 g or 4 pounds. This is a big milestone because it is the minimum weight for NICU babies to come home. He also was moved from the NAVA to the CPAP which is a less supportive ventilator. He is doing very well with that change and already has had his settings reduced/has begun to wean off the CPAP. Due to his weight gain andimproved breathing, Chester has begun the weaning process for his isolate. This means that the isolate now just has ambinet air (slight warmer than room temperature) instead of adjusting the temperature based off his body temprature. He also now gets to wear clothes and be swaddled. Chester is also getting exposed to more light and he no longer has an isolate cover that acts like a really good blackout curtain. Now he has more normal lighting due to his eyes being more developed. There are some big milestones ahead and we continue to be amazed by his progress.

Chester (as well as Mommy and Daddy)remains in my daily prayers! I love hearing about his progress. Hopefully his progress continues and takes him closer till the day he goes home! Love to all of you!
